Visit Programme

The Visit Programme offers a very practical way to co-ordinate visits to Social Firms and WISEs, minimising the administrative burden both on visitors and visit hosts in the process. Visits will be arranged for a minimum of six people, with Social Firms UK matching the preferences of different visiting organisations.  This ensures a more productive use of time for visit hosts who can channel resources into visits by larger groups – and provides better networking opportunities for visitors.

The arrangements for your visit will be coordinated by Social Firms UK using the following simple process.

Step 1.

Find out which Social Firms or WISEs you want to visit using the information about their activities and expertise on our 'Where to Visit' page.  It's worth checking the news page to see if there are already visits to these enterprises in the pipeline that you could join.

Step 2.

Complete the expression of Interest form to indicate your visit choice(s), the number of people in the party and any preferences on the timing of your visit.

Step 3.

The submitted form goes to the Social Firms UK office. Visits will be organised on the basis of a minimum of six people per visit, so Social Firms UK will liaise with organisations that have expressed an interest  in the same enterprise(s) as you and arrange a suitable date as soon as the minimum number as met. Social Firms UK will market visit opportunities to ensure that they are set up as soon as possible.

Step 4.

Social Firms UK will notify you of the visit date, times and travel directions for getting to the host, plus any other relevant information. The cost of the visit (£70 per person) will be charged when the visit is confirmed.

Step 5.

After the visit Social Firms UK will contact visiting organisations for feedback on the benefits of their experience.
